How do I get an estimate?

You’ll get a prompt reply and we’ll agree a mutually convenient time to visit and take a look and the work you are considering.  Together, we discuss the job, your ideas, and your expectations.  We’re always happy to put forward our ideas and advise about any aspect of the job.  Once we have your broad brief, we send you a written estimate. What happens after that?

It’s an estimate – not a tablet of stone!  So if you’re happy in principle, and think we’re a good fit for your job, we will drill down further into the detail, firming up on colours, brands and processes, and cost.  We will also agree a start date.  And if we both decide we’re in business, you will receive a written quotation that spells out clearly every step of the job, specifying the materials to be used along with costs, the charge for labour, and the proposed time line.

What if I want to add to the brief or make changes once works are underway?

This happens frequently, and it’s not an issue.  We will quote you for additional works, and if you’re happy with the price, incorporate them into the job.

Am I limited in my choice of colours or brands?

In a word, No!  We are familiar with all brands of paint, including Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, Paper and Paints, Earthborn, Fired Earth and – of course – Dulux, which can be mixed and matched to any colour.  We are happy to recommend, or to go with your choice.

Do I need to be at home when you are working?

That’s your call, entirely.  For many external jobs, provided there’s a water supply, we don’t need to come inside.  If you WFH we will advise in advance if you are likely to be disturbed by noise.  In Primrose Hill, we have clients who have given us the keys to their home so we can work while they are on holiday, or elsewhere.  It’s something we will happily discuss, and we can let you have references from clients who were comfortable to have us undertake their project while they were not in residence.

Will you clean up at the end of the job?

This question always makes us smile . . . we are sometimes accused of being OCD!  We begin by protecting any surfaces – e.g. carpets or floors – that are at risk, we clean up after ourselves at the end of every day, and when our project is complete everything will be spotlessly clean and tidy, with no mess left behind.  That’s a guarantee.
